
Dev previously served as a translator (Chinese and Malay) and Press Assistant for the U.S. Embassy in Malaysia. In this role, he helped coordinate the embassy’s relations with Malaysian Chinese media, which included translating the Ambassador's speeches and official press releases.
From 2021 to 2023, Dev worked as an Assistant for the Chinese Program at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute in Nepal, supporting the Chinese Program Manager in marketing, outreach, and admissions.
Prior to that, he was a Technical Project Lead in the editorial department at LexisNexis Southeast Asia, a leading global provider of legal information. He is also a qualified Cantonese interpreter.
As an experienced translator and interpreter, Dev has long provided voluntary support to various organizations, including the Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia (YBAM), Karma Kagyu Dharma Society Kuala Lumpur, TEDx Chinese events in Malaysia, Fayun Buddhist Institute, Taiping Buddhist Association.
A passionate film history enthusiast, Dev has written a biography for a Chinese veteran actress/producer, it was published in Beijing and Hong Kong. He currently provides research and editorial support for publication projects led by senior film historians of Chinese cinema from UC Berkeley and Peking University.
