H.E. Avikrita Vajra Sakya Rinpoche

His Eminence Khöndung Avikrita Vajra Rinpoche is a Sakya lineage holder born into the Khon family who teaches Buddhist philosophy at Dzongsar Institute and worldwide, founded community welfare organizations, and authored Wake Up to What Matters.

His Eminence Khöndung Avikrita Vajra Rinpoche was born in Seattle in 1993 into the Khon lineage of the Sakya tradition, relocating to India at age four to receive traditional Buddhist education from masters including H.H. the 41st Sakya Gongma Trichen Rinpoche and his late grandfather H.H. Jigdal Dagchen Dorje Chang. After mastering Sakya rituals, completing extensive retreats, and studying at Dzongsar Institute, he has taught philosophy there since 2016. He teaches extensively across the USA, UK, Europe, and Asia, founded The Marici Fellowship for community welfare projects and The Bhadracarya Foundation in Nepal, serves as Head Lama of Sakya Monastery in Seattle, and is author of Wake Up to What Matters.
