Jing Rui grew up in Singapore in a Buddhist family, with early exposure to Theravāda and Chinese Mahāyāna Buddhism. In her youth, she was a founding member of Viriya Young Buddhist Fellowship (1997–2000), a non-sectarian initiative for Dharma outreach and engagement among young people. Having studied under Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche since 2003, she serves as an appointed Dharma instructor for Siddhartha's Intent and has volunteered as interpreter for Rinpoche and other visiting Dharma teachers in Singapore for over two decades.She has served as Executive Director of 84000 since its founding in 2009. She is also a founding board member and Dharma advisor to Blue Lion Preschool and its affiliated entities. She lives in Singapore with her family.
