
Ringu Tulku Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist master of the Kagyu Order, trained in all schools of Tibetan Buddhism under the 16th Karmapa, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, and other great masters. He received his formal education at Namgyal Institute of Tibetology in Gangtok and Sampurnananda Sanskrit University in Varanasi, India, where his doctoral thesis examined the ecumenical movement in Tibet. He served as Professor of Tibetology in Sikkim for 17 years. Since 1990, he has taught Buddhism and meditation at over 50 universities, institutes, and centers across Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia, while participating in interfaith dialogues. Rinpoche founded Bodhicharya, an international organization preserving and transmitting Buddhist teachings while promoting inter-cultural dialogue and educational projects, and established Rigul Trust to support projects in his birthplace in Tibet. He serves as Official Representative of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa for Europe and founded Karmapa Foundation Europe.
