84000: Translating the Words of the Buddha is a global non-profit initiative to translate all of the Buddha’s words into modern languages, and to make them available to everyone. We use internet technologies, such as this website and our newsletter, to help raise awareness of and publish our work. We do not collect any data about users of our site except in the form of analytics, newsletter subscriptions or donor subscriptions. There is currently no functionality in the public facing websites that require user profiles, user history or usernames and passwords. Our servers contain no logs related to individual usage.

This information is held in our database and in local storage within your browser session. It is used solely to provide the scholar's room service and is not shared with anyone outside of 84000.
84000's public website is built using Webflow. Form submissions are stored on Webflow servers and are used only for the purposes for which you submitted the form and gave consent. Webflow's privacy policy and terms of service are available on their website.
84000 uses Posthog Analytics to understand how our site is used — for example, visitor trends, user locations, preferred languages, and device types. This helps us improve the site to better serve our users. Posthog's privacy policy describes how they handle data gathered on our behalf.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, your details will be added to our mailing list managed by MailChimp and synchronised with Keela, our donor management service. Subscription is by consent. You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter. Please note that unsubscribing does not permanently delete your details from our database.
